1. That I was lucky enough to join the best challenge as my first one. If you don't know Stainless Steel Droppings, you need to click over there right now and skim through the great stuff Carl V. blogs about.
2. That I read a lot more than I review.
3. That I am horrible with deadlines.
4. That I don't like to be put under pressure (self-inflicted, but still valid) to read in a specific time frame.
5. That the book bloggers and the personal bloggers are two very different entities.
6. That I've an interest in both sets of folks for similar reasons (camaraderie, validation, writing practice, discussion of common interests...).
The books I read for the Once Upon Challenge II over on Stainless Steel Droppings were thus:
1. The Good Fairies of New York by Martin Millar (Fairy Tale)
2. The Annotated Classic Fairy Tales by Maria Tatar (Fairy Tale)
3. The Libation Bearers from The Oresteia by Aeschylus (Myth)
4. Horns & Wrinkles by Joseph Helgerson (Folklore/Fantasy)
5. Brother To Dragons, Companion To Owls by Jane Lindskold (Fantasy?/SciFi?)
6. A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare (Play/Fantasy)
I'm not certain if I will continue to join reading challenges, as I seem to have my hands full staying caught up with the advanced copies I'm receiving, but I'm so glad to have found an amazingly broad and interesting group of blogs from joining this challenge.
