Sins & Weekly Geeks

I have soooo longed to parade my beautiful library, but my Midwest upbringing frowned heavily on the sin of pride. But this week's Weekly Geeks prompt asks me to show off some of my reading photos so how could I resist?

I actually have a library/workroom in my home. This has only happened since my three chicks flew the coop. Since these photos were taken a year ago, I have added upwards of 500 more books to the shelves. (Gluttony = deadly sin #2)

The little red rabbit & cabbage sofa was a gift from my auntie who should be most credited for awakening a love of reading in mini-Tasses. The long photo above the sofa (we call it a davenport) shows stacks of books from an Arnold Lobel's Whiskers & Rhymes book with the following quote:
Books to the ceiling, books to the sky.
My piles of books are a mile high.
How I love them!
How I need them!
I'll have a long beard by the time I read them.

This little stack of books is a series purchased for me when I was a wee pre-reader.
They're called The Dandelion Library and I still love them.

SO VERY TRUE!

I also collect DK Travel Guides

A little book chickie I picked up at TJ Maxx (a single dollar on clearance after Easter!) guards my children's literature shelves.

My best friend's bookstore in Indiana. (Jealousy = a third deadly sin in one post!)

And a final plea from the king of the bad asses

And for my Weekly Geek link love, I'll send any readers who so wish to take a peek over to Joy's Blog where she has an adorable display of her love for all things dolly & bookish :-)

I'm spreading the evil tonight!

Thanks :-) I love my little room and only wish I had more time to lounge there, but life keeps interrupting my book love.

What a wonderful library. Wish I could be that well-organized with my books - mine tend to just get stacked all over the place, not necessarily on the shelves! Thanks very much for mentioning my blog.

Thanks ladies. I love my little room and I have a serious 'organize everything' addiction.

LOVE the library, especially love the red paint! I have a book room too, but my shelves are much dustier than yours.

Thanks for the sneak peak. I could stare at books and other people's bookcases all. day. long.

Gautami: Thanks for the link :-)

Stephanie: I'll be hanging around your place some more ;-)

Maggie: I painted the room red before I got the little red sofa. I think they kind of clash??? I was noticing that I didn't even have the new Harry Potter book on the shelf so that picture has to be before July of 2007. I really need to take another picture. The shelves are overflowing and my hubby is threatening to build another shelf!
